Sabian symbols
One image for each degree of the zodiac. Choose a degree, spend a moment with its image, and follow the question it opens.
About the symbols and this edition
Elsie Wheeler and Marc Edmund Jones developed the Sabian degree images in 1925. The image captions in this edition come from Walter D. Pullen’s Astrolog 8.00 table, distributed under the GNU GPL, version 2 or later. Four spelling and capitalization corrections are documented in the source. Captions retain the language and cultural references of this edition.
The reflections and questions are original Starry Bodies editorial readings. They are offered for exploration alongside a whole chart and lived experience. They are not quotations from Marc Edmund Jones, Dane Rudhyar or Lynda Hill.
Traditional Sabian indexing uses the tropical zodiac: 0°00′ through 0°59′ belongs to the first degree, and 29°00′ through 29°59′ to the thirtieth. The chart panel starts with this tropical reference; its alternate reference follows your chosen chart zodiac. A date-only chart does not establish a reliable single degree.
